It started with a question I hadn’t asked before.
Before a solo trip to Greece, I asked myself: What do I actually need from this trip? The answer was rest. I planned around that need and returned home fulfilled. The trip had given me exactly what I went there for.
As I began creating the journal, I kept thinking about Paris, my first solo trip. For a trip that gave me so much, I had so little to return to—the small details and how it all felt were things I’d never written down.
I wanted a journal that helped me do both: plan around what I needed and hold on to what the experience gave me.
